Did Josef Stalin Block Hitler’s Assassination?

Josef StalinA top Russian general released a statement that surprised many listeners about the events surrounding World War 2.

At a historical conference in Moscow, General Anatoly Kulikov told accounts of how Soviet dictator Josef Stalin stopped two attempts to kill Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

He feared that his attempts to dismantle the Nazi leadership would only influence the party to make peace with Western Allies.

During World War II, there was a plan organized by the Russians to attack Hitler’s bunker in 1943 and 1944 with the help of an assassin who gained the trust of the Nazi party leadership.

Stalin feared that Hitler’s death would encourage his associates to conclude a separate peace treaty with Britain and the United States Of America.

However, some experts believe that Stalin and the Soviet leadership had other reasons why they did not want to assassinate Adolf Hitler.

Some historians believe, that Hitler’s military strategy was losing the war for the Nazi party, so it would have been more advantageous and beneficial to keep him in power.

Stalin feared that a successor would be more competent in the war so he chose to postpone Hitler’s assassination and allow the war to be won through their military strength and Hitler’s own lack of wise war strategy.

Hitler eventually, killed himself on April 30, 1945, when Russian forces conquered Berlin, which ended the war in Europe, but also triggered the Cold War between the Soviet Union and The West.

An estimated 27 million Soviet citizens died in the 1941-1945 war with Nazi Germany.

General Anatoly Kulikov was Russian Interior Minister from 1995 to 1998 under former Soviet President Boris Yeltsin.

He further concluded that the Club of Military Leaders, which he heads, would include details of the assassination attempts in a forthcoming book on the Second World War.
