Director Sam Raimi and actor Tobey Maguire have confirmed that they are not going to be involved in the next Spider Man film.
This means that Sony Pictures and Columbia will be in search of some new talent, and rumor has it they’re pushing for Robert Pattinson to come onboard.
Pattinson is up to his eyeballs in Twilight, but if you consider the rumor mill, he could be the next high flying Spider Man.
From a report released by Sony Pictures and Columbia they mentioned: “Our number one step is to discover a director. ”
This makes a lot of sense because without a director, there is going to be no movie, thus determining the right one for the job is important.
“Working on the Spider – Man movies was the experience of a lifetime for me, ” Raimi said.
“While we were looking towards doing a fourth one together, the studio and Marvel have a unique opportunity to take the franchise into a fresh direction, and I know they’ll do a terrific job.”
