Disney’s Hannah Montana star, Miley Cyrus, has continued to amaze fans both young and old since the start of her acting and singing career. This famous daughter of world renowned country singer, Billy Ray Cyrus, has been nominated for a Kids Choice Award in four different categories. The forthcoming Kids Choice Award ceremony takes place on March 27th, 2010 and she is in line to be joining the ranks of other celebrities like Jim Carrey, Jennifer Aniston, Pussycat Dolls, Rihanna, and other past Kid Choice Award winners.
Now, some of you may be unfamiliar with what the Kids Choice Award program is. The Kids Choice Award is a program done annually by Nickelodeon that is sort of similar to the Grammys or Oscars but for children and teenagers. This will be Nickelodeons 23rd year of doing the live, televised program and it is enjoyed by young and old viewers alike. The famous Hannah Montana star has topped the list as a nominee for Favorite Singer, Favorite Movie Actress, Favorite TV Actress, and Favorite Song for her track “Party in the USA”.
In both music categories she faces stiff competition from Grammy Award Nominee Lady Gaga – whose single ‘Paparazzi’ made the 2010 Favorite Song list – and also Grammy Award Winner Taylor Swift, whose track ‘You Belong with Me‘ was also given a nomination for a Kids Choice Award.
However, there may be a little more pressure than expected for the host – as this year’s show comes with the addition of presidential nominees. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama have been nominated for their first Kids’ Choice Award in the newly formed category – ‘Cutest Couple’. They’re up against fictional characters Edward and Bella and Jacob and Bella from ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ and Neytiri and Jake from ‘Avatar’.
Also up for a Kids Choice Award are Beyonce Knowles, the Jonas Brothers and Zac Efron.
